Well, today the ThunderBirds were in Cheyenne for Cheyenne Frontier Days. So Brad took the day off and we got up early to make the drive. The show started at 10, but we were up there by about 8:30. The first show was in a field. It was fun to see all the tricks that these great aircraft could do. They were very loud as well! The show only lasted for about 30 minutes. So, next it was onto the Air Base, where you could walk around all the planes. That was easier said than done. First, it took us 45 minutes to get out of the parking lot. That left a bad taste in Brad's mouth about ever coming back. Well after we left the parking lot, you had to go to a nearby mall, to be shuttled to the Air Force Base. Once again was a little chaotic, and there were long lines. The efficiency of the Cheyenne Police, and traffic control was awful...But we finally made it to the base and walked around and saw all kinds of planes, parachutes, and gliders. The weather was also nice, with a slight overcast. As we were leaving, the overcast turned into a downpour of rain. Luckily, we didn't get too wet.
So on our way home, we stopped in Fort Collins. We had dinner at Beau Jo's. And we drove around the campus, and showed the boys where Brad went to school. We also stopped by our old apartment. We also drove by Spradley Barr. It was weird to drive around Ft Collins, it has grown and changed a lot.
I promise pictures will follow.
