Water World

Yeah, we had another day at Water World with our friends... It was a good day, since it was so hot.

Monday, July 28, 2008

Well today, we are trying to get back in the groove, and routine of getting up early. That didn't go so well. We are trying to go to VBS at our church. Lauren was not having that. She is still recovering from our weekend activities.
Grandma came up to hang out. Of course she brought Scarlet.
Grandma took us to dinner tonight at Gunther Toody's. And on Monday's Kids Eat Free..... So after dinner we were all saying Thanks to Grandma for Dinner, except for Colton. Colton was very quick to point out that he didn't have to say thank you... Because he ate for free. Only Colton!

Winter Park

The Tent where the boys slept...boys being Austin, Colton & Todd

Colton is riding the 4 wheeler.

Austin and Daisy

Lauren was riding all by herself. She loved the 4 wheelers.

We are headed up to Winter Park for the weekend.... I made my annual appearance to the mountains. The Houghtons joined us. It was fun to hang out, but it was weird not to see Dave & Em.

Water World

Lauren in the Lazy River
Bailey and Austin
So today, we made a trip to Water World. We have never been there. We went with Lauren's friend Bailey. Bailey and Michelle, got there early and saved us awesome seats, in the water. There was so much to do. Austin and Colton tried the Wave! They both had fun, it was hard though. And we spent a lot of time in the LazyRiver. We also went down the Colorado slide twice. It was a great day to be in the water. It was really warm today. And we stayed in Thunder Bay for a while. Those are some big, strong waves.
As for tonight, Lauren had VBS, and Colton had Football. I had some help from Michelle, as I am not good at being in two places at one. (Brad was playing golf in Castle Rock).
So after VBS, we still had enough energy to go to the Orchards. (It's a near by outdoor mall) The Disney Channel, was having a screening of Camp Rock. So the movie started at 9:00. We had fun watching Camp Rock. We love musicals. After the movie we came straight home and we all crashed.

The ThunderBirds

Well, today the ThunderBirds were in Cheyenne for Cheyenne Frontier Days. So Brad took the day off and we got up early to make the drive. The show started at 10, but we were up there by about 8:30. The first show was in a field. It was fun to see all the tricks that these great aircraft could do. They were very loud as well! The show only lasted for about 30 minutes. So, next it was onto the Air Base, where you could walk around all the planes. That was easier said than done. First, it took us 45 minutes to get out of the parking lot. That left a bad taste in Brad's mouth about ever coming back. Well after we left the parking lot, you had to go to a nearby mall, to be shuttled to the Air Force Base. Once again was a little chaotic, and there were long lines. The efficiency of the Cheyenne Police, and traffic control was awful...But we finally made it to the base and walked around and saw all kinds of planes, parachutes, and gliders. The weather was also nice, with a slight overcast. As we were leaving, the overcast turned into a downpour of rain. Luckily, we didn't get too wet.
So on our way home, we stopped in Fort Collins. We had dinner at Beau Jo's. And we drove around the campus, and showed the boys where Brad went to school. We also stopped by our old apartment. We also drove by Spradley Barr. It was weird to drive around Ft Collins, it has grown and changed a lot.
I promise pictures will follow.

The Bay

Well today we had planned to go to the Bay with all the Preschool teachers. I had never been to the Bay. It's a nice, but small pool. It had a few slides. All the girls had fun spending time together. And all of us adults had fun catching up as well. We weren't there too long until the power went out. So they closed the pool. That wasn't too fun since it was hot today. We killed some time at a near by Big Lots. Because Colton had a sports physical at 3:30. ( He needs a physical to play football.) So after that, it was back home. And time for a quick dinner. Lauren is going to Vacation Bible School this week, at her preschool. So unto VBS, and Colton's Football conditioning camp. He had to try out for a team. It's cute to see the boys put on numbers, and be timed on how fast they are, and how far they can throw a ball. He's trying to get on a team with some of his friends... Sorry, no pictures today.

A Busy Weekend

Well the weekend has flown by... Here are a few highlights.
  • Friday, Brad took a half day and meet us at Elitch's. It was nice and hot, so it was definately a day for the Water Park. Austin did the Edge, Colton and I did the Rip Qurl. We had a great time.
  • Saturday held a lots of activities. First was the Swim Meet in the southern most part of Denver. It was a very hot day, and the meet was very big. There were 4 teams, and it lasted almost 5 hours. Grandma Becky, Grandpa John, Jake & Emily joined us. The boys did very well. Austin is improving a lot. And Colton had some good competition.
  • After the meet, we all split up. Austin went to spend the night with Jake & Emily. They went swimming, and had plans to go to TinyTown on Sunday. He had a great time.
  • Colton & Lauren went to spend the night in Castle Rock. They swam at Jake & Emily's pool first, and then headed down to CR. Lauren had a special present for Scarlet. A really cute pink and black striped dog dress. Yes, a dog dress!
  • Well with the kids being cared for Brad and I had the rest of the day to run errands. We decided to do a little shopping. We're trying to get some pictures, and things for the house. But we winded up making a few extra purchases. Austin got a new hat, backpack on wheels, a wooden boat, and new bedding. Colton got new shoes, and a Broncos shirt. I got 2 new swimsuits. And Brad also got new clothes. Lauren didn't get anything, and yes that's a first. She will get a new backpack when she goes shopping with Brad later this week. ( I thought for Kindergarten, she should pick out her first backpack.)
  • After lots of shopping, Brad and I meet Bj, Kelly & Annabelle for dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Yum.... I don't even have to look at the menu, because I always order the same thing. Roadkill. It's so good.
  • Next, Kelly and I made our way to the movie theater to see Momma Mia. (BJ & Brad took Annabelle home, as 7:00 is her bedtime.) We enjoyed the movie. Afterwards, we hung out at their house, and watched TV.
  • Now, unto Sunday.... Brad woke up to watch the British Open. We do feel bad for Greg Norman, as he lost. Then we had to get ready for the Rockies Game.
  • We got tickets in a suite at Coors Field. So this was the first time we've sat in a suite, and is why we couldn't bring the kids with us. Not that we couldn't get tickets for them, but that then they would always want to sit in an air conditioned room, with a TV and stocked refrigerator and food tray.
  • We were really glad to be in the suite, as it was only 102 today in Denver. But the Rockies had a great game. The final score was 11-3!!
  • Next we had to pick up the kids. We went to Jake & Emily's, and later meet everyone else at Olive Garden.
  • Finally, we made our way home, and are going to catch up on some much needed rest, by going to bed early.

Stapleton SwimMeet

Today we went to Aurora, to see my Dad for a little bit. He's just hanging out, trying to kill time between all his Dr appointments, physical therapy, and VA appointments. We also wanted to drag him along to the boys swim meet in Stapleton. The weather held off.... It was supposed to rain, but it was just kinda cloudy, but still warm. The swim meet went well. The funniest part of the meet was when Colton and a few friends were sitting on the edge of the pool. There was a race in progress, and as soon as the swimmers swam past Colton, Brad pushed Colton in the water unexpectedly. Soon after the coach from the other team, came over to scold Colton's friends, and we all had to point the finger at Brad, as being the trouble maker.

More Painting

Well I bought paint for Lauren's room back in December. So today, I'm going to keep on painting. So Lauren's room is now Tutu Pink. (It's only taken me 5 1/2 years to get my little girl a pink room. I'm finally getting Brad to break away from beige.) It's a very pretty soft pink. I now just need to finish her bedroom door and closet doors. And clean out everything I found under her bed.

4th of July

Well, I've been talking about painting the upstairs of our house forever... And today's the day I'm going to start painting. I started with painting the baseboards, semigloss white. Hopefully that makes cleaning them easier. Tomorrow, I'll paint the hallway.
We also had tickets to the Colorado Rapids game today. It was warm today. And we got to the stadium early, because they had a carnival outside the stadium. Everything was free, and that made all the lines super long. I think the kids only got to do 3 things before the game started. I had never been to a Soccer game before, and I thought it was okay. The Rapids won 4 to 0. (In soccer that is a blowout.) We stayed for fireworks after the game. We thought it would be like the Rockies fireworks. But the stadium didn't turn off the lights, and they had a video montage playing during the fireworks, which kinda distracted from the fireworks. And when we left, all of the roads turned into immediate parking lots. It was kinda crazy. When we finally made it home, Felicia informed us of the Fireworks at Coors Field. I can't believe I missed tonight's Rockies game. Long story short the Rockies came back and beat the Florida Marlins 18-17. After hearing all the details, I can't believe I was at a soccer game instead of a Rockes game.

Wanted

Well Kelly is about to have a new baby in just about a month. So we wanted to get together and see a movie before the baby arrives. I'm not that big into movies, so Kelly choose, Wanted. I didn't know much about the movie, except that Angelina Jolie was in it. It reminded me a lot of the Fight Club, and the Matrix. It did have a good story, but there was a little too much blood for me.
Scarlet is also visiting. Grandma is gone to Iowa for the week.
