Milli Vanilli

So does anyone remember Milli Vanilli? Well, as we were driving home Saturday Night, I was flipping through the radio stations, and Milli Vanilli happened to be on the radio. The kids thought it was a catchy song, and I explained to them the story, but that I used to love Milli Vanilli. Well now Milli Vanilli is one of the kids new favorites. They are always watching the videos on Youtube. It's so funny to see the kids singing Girl you know it's True....

Colton's 9th Birthday

Well, today Colton has turned 9. I can hardly believe it. We didn't do much, Colton opened a few presents. He got a new bike, and he wanted some new Tech Decks. He was also excited about some new clothes for baseball. We had lunch at Famous Dave's with all the Clingman's, to celebrate the April birthdays, and to see Dave and Em before they leave on their South American Adventure. We had a great lunch. Came home, and the boys went on a bike ride. Colton loves his new bike.

Colton also got a new set of golf clubs from Grandma Becky & Grandpa John.
There are more pictures, can you believe that??

Friday April 18th

Okay, so we had a few things that were funny today....

Lauren and I went to Aurora to visit Grandpa Rick. Lauren had not seen the 4 new American Eskimo puppies. They are the cutest little white furballs... SO Lauren had her first experience of puppy training. Lauren had one of the little boys sitting on her lap, and the next thing I know she is throwing the puppy off of her lap. I tried to tell her to be careful with the little fragile puppy, and then she pointed out to me that she had a small wet spot on her jeans. When I asked what happened, she said, "I got peed on!" Despite spending the day watching Grandma Gail clean up after the puppies, Lauren has fallen in love, and still wants a puppy. I tried to explain to her that puppies are a lot of work, and I'm not ready to clean up after puppies. Lauren didn't volunteer to clean up after a puppy, so it looks like no puppies for us...

Austin had his last dance of 7th grade.... It's hard to believe that this year in school has gone by so quickly. Austin claims he didn't have much fun at the dance. He told me that they played a lot of music that he didn't know, and didn't like. I however find that very hard to believe, because if you spend any time with Austin you will find out he has music in every part of his body. He is always singing, or making some kind of noise. I guess I will have to do better at broadening his music library.

The Monkey Bars

Well, Lauren is at an age where she is growing everyday, and she is discovering new things that she can do herself. On Saturday, March 22nd she learned she could cross the monkey bars all by herself. She did this at the playground, while Colton was at baseball practice. She was so excited that she called me. I wish I had been there. So this Tuesday, we took a few pictures. Lauren is so proud that she doesn't need Mom's help anymore.

Game 2

Well, Colton knew since he didn't get to pitch in the last game that he would get to pitch in game 2. They started off pretty good, both teams played well. But Colton got to come in to pitch in the 3rd inning. He had 3 strikeouts and held the other team to 1 run over the three innings he pitched. Colton's team got their first win, 9 to 8. Good Job Colton!
Sorry for the video, this is Colton at bat. As I practice more with my camera and blogging I will then be able to post better videos.

Long Lost Friends

Well today, I recieved a call, that you just don't get every day. There was a message at home of someone looking for a Noelia Martinez, the message was left by Stephanie, who asked me to call her back, and that it wasn't a sales call. SO this afternoon when I got home I called the number, and reached Stephanie, she asked me a few questions to verify I was the right Noelia. She had described me as having a father in the Army, having two younger sisters and a baby brother. She also verified that I moved to Germany in the 6th grade. I told her that I was the person she was looking for, and at first my brain wasn't working, as it took me a while to register who I was talking to. We had a brief conversation, and decided we'd talk more later today. When we spoke later this evening, I asked Stephanie her middle name, and then I knew exactly who was on the other end of the line. Stephanie and I lived down the street from each other in Ft Campbell Ky. We knew each other from the 3rd grade to 6th. I was very interested in asking a lot of questions, and my mind just bounced out of order, with whatever came to mind next. Now this might not seem that big of a deal for most of you, to get a call from a friend you knew in the 3rd grade, but since we are both Army Brats, I can guarantee you it doesn't happen everyday. I will give you credit that with today's Internet, it's probably not that hard. But it's not something I was expecting to happen today. I'm glad that it did, I think it's so cool. As for Stephanie she doesn't really live that far, Brad thought it was probably 6 hours to the city she lives in. So why did Stephanie decide to give me a call today? Well, Stephanie came across an old photo of me, while helping her son do a family tree assignment. And guess what? Stephanie's son's birthday is the same as Colton's, but they are one year apart. How crazy? I look forward to speaking with her again.

Opening Day

Well, it's baseball season again, not only for the Big Leagues, but for Colton also. He tried out again and made the competitive traveling team. We were glad to finally have Opening Day this Saturday, April 12th. So I'll give you the stats for Colton: He's a left hander, who would love to pitch or play 1st base.. Colton is a good baseball player, who thinks of himself as an awesome player. It is so funny to hear him talk about baseball. On Saturday, his team wasn't doing so good against his opponents. But near the end of the game he was warming up to pitch. The score was already 11 to 0. So his coach told him to take the mound, and during that time the umps and opponents coaches talked amoungst themselves, and decided to call the game, since they reached the 10 run rule. It would be funny if you were to hear Colton's version... He tells it like this: the other team saw me coming up to pitch, and they knew I was a left hander, and they were scared and didn't want to play against me. When I overheard Colton's version in the car, I almost wrecked the car, because I was laughing so hard. Colton did have a great hit during the game. And he has plenty more games to play this season. Thank You, to our friends BJ, Kelly & Annebelle for coming to the game.

Colton's Science Fair Project

April 10th

Well today Colton had his Science Fair. We all worked together and it was pretty cool... I did the research online, and we decided to test the amount of energy produced from fruit. Brad had to help with the voltage meter. Colton recorded all the info, and I helped make his board look pretty. My friend, Bilette, has a criket, and we used that. (that criket is awesome)

Lauren is Playing Soccer

Okay, so our girlie-girl Lauren decided she wanted to play soccer. She did think of this all on her own. We talked with one of our friends and thought it might be fun if the girls played soccer together. So we signed them up. Lauren had her first game, on Saturday April 5th. The best part about this is that due to weather the team was unable to have practice. It was a fun game. At first I think Lauren was a little shy. But she got the hang of it. She even scored her first goal! Lauren did have a small cheering section, as our friends BJ, Kelly & Annebelle came to watch.
Here are pictures from her game. Thanks, Kelly

Rockies Opening Day

Well Baseball is back in town... Today the kids didn't have to go to school, since the game was at 2:00, and we wanted to get downtown early. We arrived at the parking lot before it opened, and we beat Grandpa Rick to the stadium. The weather was great, and the game was fun, we just wish the Rockies would of played better. As expected I took tons of pictures, so you can see for yourself.
